Journaling: "It seems like I'm always on the road. Living in the country means it takes 30 minutes to get anywhere. Everyone can get pretty grumpy couped up in the van for so long. You often hear the famous "stop touching me" from the back seat. There's almost a contanst stream of "mom, mom, mom." Jordan has never enjoyed riding in the car. Some times she will scream the full 30 minute drive! One day when Jordan was a few months old and I was at the end of my nerves I started yelling "Yea, yea, we're almost home! We're almost home! Hurray! Hurray!" over and over to a tune that popped in my head. I'm telling you it was inspired! Jordan stopped crying. We were shocked! If I stopped singing Jordan started crying so everyone joined in and we sang the rest of the ride home. We've used that song to calm her since and it still works two years later."
Singing that song really has been a sanity saver. Even if we do have to sing it over and over for what seems like forever. If Jordan gets fussy in the car one of the kids usually just starts singing.
I also wrote places I usually go on the calendar.
Almost everything used was from a kit I found at Wal-Mart months ago. I thought I'd never use it. The letters are Basic Grey from the Mellow paper pack. I love the Noteworthy notebook from Making Memories, they are perfect for journaling on.
TFL! I have a Christmas layout to post soon. Maybe even later today!

I love your journaling! Keep it up. Tell the story! TJ
I think this page is great! It was a great way to capture this for you to always remember. I'm sure one day you will actually miss the whining rides to town! The calendar idea was great. It adds an even more personal touch!
I love everything about this page. I really like the calendaring and journaling. I don't think we give our self credit for just the things that have to be done every day like driving. Soothing a crying child while in the car is HUGE especially if we're at the end of our rope. Our everyday efforts and hum drum routines and destinations make our world go around. Great idea to capture it on a page.
