Rise To The Challenge Week 1

So since I had not scrapbooked a page in 2 months I decided to join another challenge contest to get me motivated. The first challenge was really crazy. Lucky 7.
I had to use 7 different pattern papers, 7 different card stocks, 7 flowers, 7 buttons, 7 brads, the title had to have 7 letters or 7 words, plus we had to use 7 different techniques. Paper tearing, inking, stamping, embossing, sewing, punching, and doodling. Crazy, huh?

I ended up with 20.71 out of 25 possible points! I didn't have the correct amount of flowers!

I emailed my layout right at the deadline! It was a tough one for me. Here's how mine turned out...

Pattern Paper and Card stock
I used lots of the Patterns Designer Series Paper found on page 159 of the catalog.
I used Pacific Point(112150) with the dots and then one with stripes for one of the little flowers.
I used the graph pattern in Regal Rose from the hostess pack on page 18 in the catalog. It is a 6x6 inch Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper II. Perfect size for layering on your scrapbook pages or to use on cards. The journaling is written on a piece cut from the Regal Rose Designer Series paper. I also punched a pink flower from paper in that pack. It's the one tucked under the Top Note die cut.

I used paper from the Raspberry Tart package(113975) to punch the flower at the top corner and the one on the bottom corner.
The turquoise paper under the title is from the Pink Flamingo paper pack(113976).

I used Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Cameo Coral, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White card stock.

Punches/Diecuts
I punched out butterfly wings out of a Window Sheet using the Beautiful Butterflies die(114507) on the Big Shot and embossed the edges.

I attached the wings with Crystal Effects(101055). I have never added wings to a photo before but I noticed the wings were almost the same size as the wings in the photo so I thought I'd give it a try.
I used the Scallop Edge punch(112091) on the Rose Red card stock.
I made a larger scallop edge using the Slit punch(14388) side by side.
I punched the flowers using the 5 Petal Flower punch(109041) and the Boho Blossoms punch(110711).
Of course, I used the Top note die(113463).

Stamps
I stamped a swirl design above the picture on the Top Note die. The swirl is from the Frames with a Flourish Set which is retiring at the end of the month so if this is on your wish list you should buy it now before it is too late!
I used this stamp set ALL the time and I'm sad to see it go.

Chipboard
For the title I used random letters from both On Board Loads of Letters(112084) and On Board Timeless Type(112083).

Embellishments
I used a couple of Pacific Point corduroy buttons(114341) as the center of the 5 petal flowers.
The pink buttons and the brads are just random items from my stash.

This week's challenge is called summer heat.
Requirements:

1. 28 or 82 embellishments of your choice. (must list out) No more no less. Because the hostess of the chellenge thinks the ideal summer temperature is 28 degrees. Celsius NOT Fahrenheit! If we're brave, we can try using 82 different embellishments! That's the temperature it would be in Fahrenheit!
2. LO must be of a "summer" theme
3. technique to use this week is sanding (cause playing in the sand is summery)
4. Must use the colors Blue(color of water) , Orange (color of the summer sun), and Brown (color of the sandy beaches).

Wish me luck. I'll be posting my page next weekend.

Love this page. Love the wings! Love it all. Did I mention I love your work? Seriously!

I do have to say that it is just a little bit funny that you are short a flower...I mean with all the attention that you pay to detail and you missed a flower? How did THAT happen? Oh wait, you mean you aren't perfect afterall? ;) J/K, I still think it is a BEAUTIFUL page! Love you!

I was just thinking of calling you, Amy. I haven't heard from you in SO long. Hope all is well.
Yeah, I'm not perfect. That is what I get for finishing at midnight!
