Rise To The Challenge Week 3

This week the challenge was all about personal, heartfelt journaling plus we had to use some sort if office supplies, use a household item to stamp with {ie: lids, sponge, etc.} skies the limit, and distressing.

Photobucket

Paper
I used the square and striped designer paper from the Washington Apple paper pack. Which has been discontinued. Too bad because I really enjoyed the bright primary colors.
I used So Saffron, Red Ridding Hood Red,Bashful Blue, and Only Orange cardstock.

Punches
Punches are awesome!

The little file tab that reads Proof was punched using the Round Tab punch(108340).
I created the spiral notebook paper edge using the Spiral punch(108341).

Photobucket

I used the Slit punch(104388) to create the large scallop edge.
The heart at the bottom corner, the heart on the title, and the little one on the paper clip were all punched with the Heart to Heart punch(113694). I love that you get all 3 hearts with one punch. Wonderful!

Photobucket

I used the 1/2" circle punch(104390) to create the fun edge on the blue strip of paper. It looks like the edge of a postage stamp except huge scale.
I also gave you a little sneak peek of the new Modern Label punch found in the new catalog available July 1st! You just get a little peek of it on the heart in the bottom corner. I love the scallopy edge of it. You will definately want to add this to your wishlist!!

Stamping
No stamp sets were used but I did use an empty toilet paper roll to stamp a circle in Only Orange on So Saffron cardstock.

Embellishments
I used a Build-a-Brad(109128) for the top of my paper clip.
The brads used for bullets in my journaling are just brads I've had in my stash for ages, most likely from Hobby Lobby.

Chipboard
The chipboard letters used for the title are from the On Board Loads of Letters(112084). I really like this chipboard set. You get 3 font styles with mulitples of each letter so you can get lots of use just from this one package of chipboard! I've had mine for about 6 months and use it for most of my page titles and I still have plenty left. At only $12.95 it's a great deal.

Photobucket

I hand wrote "It's all because of" on white cardstock then cut it out and placed it on my layout. There is a how-to on this found at One Little Word, one of my favorite challenge sites. I really like how it turned out. You will definitely be seeing this more on my layouts.

Journaling reads:

because of you there are handprints on the walls.

because of you the laundry is never done.

because of you I rarely sleep through the night.

because of you I sing along with Dora the Explorer.

because of you dishes are piled high.

because of you we eat at McDonald's to play or buy a happy meal.

because of you I drive a minivan.

because of you I want to be a better person.

because of you I feel loved.

because of you I love unconditionally.

because of you I have happiness.

because of you my heart is full.

because of you I am a mom.

The next challenge is about time and clocks with sewing! Wish me luck.
